Tata Motors

Hello,

This stock has given good run-up from the lows... I am sure its an investor's charm.. Good Dividend payer, bonus sharer and good ROE giver. What else u need... PATIENCE

Now, it should not close below 292 for say 1-2 months view. please not I am not so gud a time-teller, but a good target giver.

Hindalco....

Hi,

I would like to get comments on this post. This stock should a must on technical chartist radar.

My only hesitation to give any view is because of its last two day breakout from an on-going descending triangle pattern. I am not very sure about the formation... But Mind well, i would give the good news on it, on either ways..... Lets wait n watch whether bulls or the bears shall control the stock

ITC Call & market view

Hi Everybody,

Hope someone would have shorted ITC at higher levels.... (Refer my prev post on ITC.

Well, markets yesterday bounced from 5840 supp levels but could not manage to break above 5934. Also markets gave today closing below my 1st supp level (5885) given yesterday.

Now, one has to see if markets can retest 5934 levels & not close below 5840 tomorrow. Today markets gave in two days gains with high volumes (more than avg volumes of last 4 trading sessions)

Resis  -   5898 / 5914 / 5934
Supp   -  5838 / 5820 / 5772

Please note that Nifty has held the short-term averages very well. If markets gap down & 5820 is broken, then the level of 5754 will act as a good arrest level for any downsides.

Thank You

Follow-up call on Bank Nifty - 21122012

Hi,

Did U check out that bank nifty made highs till 12517 (near my 2nd resis - 12515) & also closed above the 1st resis given that day - 12477.

As I had pointed out trade Bank Nifty rather than Nifty since nifty was moving in tandem with it. Though, if you see today's gainers were from other sectors. To be frank I have not checked out charts of Different Sectoral Indices.

The weekly charts are in a trend line wherein they are moving above short-term moving averages.

There is one technical indicator which I have a keen eye on... It is the true trend-setter and rather  I would say Trend - level Giver.

Resis    -  12618 / 12715
Supp    -  12410 / 12354

TRADING CALL - 26122012

Hi,

5840 has been acting as gud support for the markets. Today's markets closed above the 5 & 10 day Moving averages. My first resis 5918 in prev post was not broken today.
5927/ 5934 are stiff resis areas to be broken and given closing above it convincingly along with good volumes. I am sure that markets in a few trading sessions would give good move either ways (say 250-300 points)

It is interesting to note that weekly charts would be a gud trend teller than daily charts for positional calls.

So watch for them...
Resis   -  5924 / 5945
Supp   -  5885 / 5845

You guys may wonder why i m quiet on few days. The reason being either I do not get time to track or majorly my resis & supp take care of for 2-3 trading sessions.

Thank you..

Happy Trading !!!!!

ITC

This stock has given gud returns in two years. In these two years, the stock has not broken the trendline. So, it tested 281 on Friday  but if it would have broken that and of course closed below 288, then stock would have been a must watch for Short-sellers in the market.

However, it manged to close above 281 with good volumes. Now, it has to seen for 1 or two days the closing prices keenly.

Resis -  292 / 294 / 298
Supp  -  281 / 277

Bank Nifty

Having a look at the Bank Nifty charts, it seems that markets would move in tandem with how bank nifty plays. If pullback has to happen in Nifty, then trade bank nifty rather than nifty & vice-versa trend also. It will give sure returns. Bank nifty Moving averages, MACD are all indicating towards downside. So best strategy would be to short bank Nifty on higher levels.

Resis  - 12477 / 12515
Supp   - 12358 / 12115 / 11850

Thanks...

Daily calls - 22/12/2012

Hi,

Wow... Markets did make highs 5939-5938, but never managed to close beyond 5934 Resis. So acting as a stiff resistance on closing basis, markets did trade low on Fri (21/12/2012) testing the supp level of 5840.... The MACD indicator did give a -ve divergence, but we may expect markets to bounce from lows (one of the indicator shows mkts bouncing back if opened gap-down. However market closing below 5820 will have more downside.

Resis - 5918 / 5924 / 5934
Supp - 5825 / 5816 / 5764

Please note that these are short-term hiccups in markets, but market overall in uptrend. Keep in mind my 16th & 18th Dec overall view of the markets

P.S. I re-iterate that these calls are majorly only on basis of technical charting and I do not follow news for reason why the upside or downside could happen...

Daily calls - 19/12/2012

Gud Morning....

On the basis of reading charts till yesterday's trading session, I want to share my views.

Nifty managed to surpass the resis levels (5927/34) with good volumes in the market. Also continuing with the positive trend, it is now to be seen if the MACD indicator continues its positive divergence. Markets now are looking for some major trigger either side.

Resis - 5945/5950
Supp - 5867/5840/5816

Tuesday, 18 December 2012

Hi,

I maintain my outlook about markets being in overall positive trend. However, I gave the supports 5840/5816.

As you saw, markets did justify these two levels for two days. I would like to point out that my levels of supports (Supp), resistances (Resis) & targets (TGT) would be approx +/- 5 points of actual levels. this is what I have seen in these years the Proximity of my levels & views.

5816 is a Multi-supp level. In technical analysis, we call it as the Average Price (wvap)

My view is today's up-tick was on back of the RBI move. Also one of the indicator of RSI showed the bottom level from where they had to close above. Still, 5927/5934 are crucial resis level to break for markets to again make a new high. Also, the up moves now should be complied with increasing volumes too. One major indicator is MACD, which is on the verge to give negative divergence. But yet to be seen.

All these levels are either intra-day or closing levels, but mostly closing prices.

Resis - 5927 / 5934
Supp - 5865 / 5816

Happy Trading .....

Today's chart reading

Hi,

I am sharing my views on markets and stock calls on this blog.

I have dedicated this blog only to share my knowledge on Indian Equity Markets.

Today's reading is that overall trend looks positive. This view is based on charts till yesterday. Acc to me (V th) sub-wave is pending, but a little respite can be seen to the up-move  Daily plus weekly charts show a candlestick pattern which indicates a top- capping structure.

Resistances for markets for say 1 week (i.e. 5 days) - 5927 / 5934
Today's Support - 5840 / 5816

Targets - If above supports are broken which I strongly feel, then they can reach 5781 / 5665.

For Further updates on stocks & markets, please read my blog.....

Thank you.

P.S. - I give these views on my chart-reading skills without any updates based onnews or fundamentals......

In India, There are major two exchanges operational in terms of turnover, volume, number of clients & scrips listed i.e The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) & The National stock Exchange (NSE)

Broadly, equity stock Trading & Derivatives trading is what I would like to highlight on.

First, talking of Equities meaning shares that are listed on the exchanges & widely traded. This blog is to give a basic, lay-man understanding about the trading done.

According to me, there are major two sections in markets. I.e. Traders & Investors. Trading  are for me, who are speculators, people who want to make quick bucks, and investors who ply their money to gain returns from short period of time - more than 15 days to 6 months.

However, stalwarts & big Brokerage houses' analysts, relationship managers recommend investing means plying your money to expect returns from period 6 months to 1 year. I would like to call them short-term investors. Theoretically  people from the industry say that periods of investment & terming them short-term & long-term varies from person to person. But, since working in the markets tells me that investments for 6 months to 1 year should be short-term trading and not investments. Because Investing according to me is basically done on fundamentals & any Tom, Dick & Harry would tell you that fundamentals do not change in such short periods. For the fruits or changes to seep in the balance sheets would atleast take businesses 1.5 to 2 years.

After broad classification on methods of doing business on the exchanges, let me bifurcate trading & investment in terms of period of returns (Profit / Loss). they are as follows:-

Also to give a new dimension to the terms trading & investment, I would say targets got by seeing technical charts should be purely meant for trading purpose, whether its for 1 or 2 yrs targets. Charts are representation of human behaviour to the change in prices & volume; whereas Balance sheets and targets from them are purely representation of the business done. So according to me targets derived from purely accounting is what I call investment. If someone would argue that changes of prices due to news flow of companies in terms of new set-up, product-line, Financial results in the short-time is 80% due to speculation. since the actual numbers of these news will reflect in balance sheets or profit & loss statements after the news are implemented.
